You and your neighbors can make an immediate difference in your community by volunteering for Chicago's citywide day of service. Clean and Green is a great opportunity for residents, school groups and community organizations to team up and beautify areas in their neighborhood. The City will provide the brooms, rakes, shovels and bags needed for clean-up projects.

Call 311 to register. Deadline to register is April 19th.

The Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail group is joining in on the Earth Day celebrations by organizing a clean up event of its own on The days efforts will be to clean up the viaducts below the trail which don't receive the same amount of attention the top of the trail does. We'd love your help giving the underside of the trail some much needed TLC for more information and if you are interested in volunteering click here

Join us to CLEAN and GREEN as we beautify the park and place mulch around the trees. Earn service hours, receive a FREE T-shirt and gloves (while supplies last), and help keep Humboldt Park beautiful. Volunteers will also be provided with lunch.

Be sure to join us for this community stewardship activity full of entertainment, educational activities & more, including: a tree planting and dedication; kids' science projects and experiments with Mad Science; chances to connect with the Block Club Federation, Build Inc., Bike Ambassadors, Illinois Forest Preserve District, Left Setter Rock Band, Opera-Matic, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center & more!

The Avondale Neighborhood Association is partnering with Concordia Church on Whipple to host the annual Clean and Green. Community members are invited to gather for coffee and snacks at the Annex building 9:30 am. Groups of people will go out to different areas of Avondale to clean from 10:00 am-12;00 pm. At noon everyone is invited to gather back at the Annex for a post clean-up celebration. If you would like to meet new neighbors and make a difference in our community, join us for this event.

Join LoganSquarist for our annual Logan Square Earth Day Trash Pick-Up! Meet us at Lula Cafe where we'll check in, pass out trash bags and sanitary gloves, and enjoy a complimentary hot cup of coffee. Starting at 11:30 am, we'll disperse to pickup trash throughout the neighborhood, cleaning up our community one piece of trash at a time until 2:00 pm.

Afterward, join us for the after-party for a complimentary pizza and salad, as well as discounted beverages.
