The Chicago Haymarket Affair is an objective look at the 1886 event and its aftermath. Using the trial transcripts and the downtown Chicago sites related to it, Joseph Rulli weaves a narrative of explanation and conclusion-drawing that is unique for this topic. He also shows how an objective study of an historical event can provide tools for dealing with contemporary issues and problems to find solutions.
