The Chicago Police Department, in partnership with the Departments of Building and Law, along with Community Investment Corpoartion will be hosting a series of resource workshops for the owners and managers of residential properties of varying sizes. Join us for Poetry in Translation a presentation by Peter Booth on Hafiz’s conceptions of the nature of God, how and why God brought about creation, and man’s ultimate state after passing through it. He will quote extensively from his poetry in both Farsi and English showing how he has crafted his poems to be a spiritual awakener and guide.
Fereshteh Azad will read selected Hafiz poems in Farsi. She will also read some of her own translations of Rumi's poetry at the end of Peter's presentation.
