How to Cut Through the Marketing Noise. "Beat Your Competition and Grow Your Business."

An in-depth introduction to branding for small business owners, startups and entrepreneurs, full of ready-to-apply takeaways. Branding is often misunderstood in the small business world and regarded as something that only the big companies can afford. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. The reality is, most small businesses fail because they don’t have a strong brand (or don’t have a brand at all). Branding is more important than ever but now that consumers are both marketing-savvy and in control of the relationship, what constitutes effective branding has changed. No matter where you are in the life of your small business, and whether you have heard about branding but don’t quite get it or think your business doesn’t need branding, this workshop is for you.

Enjoy free live music in the heart of Logan Square and support Comfort Station!

Comfort Station returns to the Logan Square Monument for their summer fundraiser, with free live music all day, beer provided by Goose Island and more. Building off of their 2016 fundraiser with Tall Pat Records, the 2017 fundraiser aims to make this an annual event with a casual, open atmosphere (not a street festival!) and amazing music all in support of Comfort Station's programming (which is always free).

Here’s my educated guess. When you ventured out to start your new business, nobody handed you a fat pension or a 401(k). Preparing for a peaceful, prosperous retirement is in YOUR hands, for better or worse! Take control of your own financial future – attend this workshop to learn over 20+ retirement programs out there for you and your employees. Build up your own nest egg, and attract and retain key employees! Bonus: Learn about how J.C. Penny, Ray Kroc, Walt Disney and others started their business and how they used their retirement plans to accelerate the growth of their business at the same time.
This workshop brings a comprehensive look into the retirement landscape available for business owners. Which plan is best suited for you? Given the paltry savings rate of most Americans, the rising cost of living and medical care, and the squeeze the middle class is feeling, it is essential to pick a savings and investing strategy that fits the needs of each business owner.

Key Performance Indicators To Successfully Run a Small Business
Workshop will discuss measurements known as “Key Performance Indicators” (KPIs) that are needed to be defined and monitored to successfully run your business. Just like a doctor who uses data to assess your health, you need data as a business owner to assess and guide your business. The workshop starts by characterizing a small business and defining the various stages of launching, stabilizing and growing the small business. The core discussion will be on what are the internal and external KPIs that a business owner needs to monitor, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Examples are Organization KPIs, People KPIs, Process KPIs, Financial KPIs, Planning KPIs, Sales/Marketing KPIs.
