While you are strolling, running or biking along The 606, dozens of scientific spectacles are hiding in plain sight, and on National Citizen Science Day, we will reveal them. Local scientists will guide The 606 community to make discoveries about plants, animals, and the universe! Join us for some hands-on science fun!

Julia de Burgos Park: Learn about astronomy and how to observe the skies over Chicago night or day with Chicago Astronomer Joe.

Along the trail: Our volunteer plant observers will be trail top sharing what they are learning about Chicago’s climate by monitoring the serviceberry shrubs and lilacs along The 606. They’ll show you how to observe our plants!

At Milwaukee/Leavitt: Partners will talk about the science behind the lights on the Milwaukee/Leavitt bridge.

What is Citizen Science? Citizen Science is when community members and scientists work together on amazing projects collecting data and making scientific discoveries.
