The Waxing ¾ Moon and Red Giant Star Regulus in Leo are in close conjunction. The Moon will display a good “Libration” or peek tilt around the eastern edge. Orbital mechanics allow the Moon appear to wobble, giving us a good view of Mare Crisum, (Sea of Crisis) this evening. Brightest night time star Sirius, the Orion Nebula, Reddish Mars will be visible, with the Big Dipper standing on its handle and Brilliant Venus setting. The Pleiades or “Seven Sisters” open star cluster will dazzle and the spring celestial targets are moving into view at this time of the season.
