Fullerton Milwaukee Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District
Many of Logan Square's businesses are located within the boundaries of the Fullerton/Milwaukee TIF district. Through the year 2023, the city is setting aside a portion of property taxes in this district to fund public improvements, economic and community development. Currently, $52.5 million is budgeted for redevelopment including:
- $10M for Property Assembly including Acquisition, Site Prep and Demolition, Environmental Remediation
- $18.2M for Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings, Fixtures and Leasehold Improvements, Affordable Housing Construction and Rehabilitation costs
- $16M for Public Works and Improvements including streets and utilities, parks and open space, public facilities (schools & other public facilities)
The city has created a Small Business Investment Fund (SBIF) in this district to offer rehabilitation grants to local businesses and property owners. Click on the above link to find out more about this program and if your business is eligible for a grant.
